We're glad you asked.

In this blog, we'll go over the following steps involved in creating a marketing video:
Step 1: Who's your audience? What buyer persona are you looking to target?
Step 2: What's your message? What are you trying to communicate?
Step 3: What's does your storyboard look like? What images do you want? What emotion are you trying to capture?
Step 4: Find a video production company like Zazzify. There are lots of different agencies that can create a video but remember not all agencies cost the same or provide the same value. Find one that meets your needs + budget.
Step 5: Distributing your video through the correct channels is just as important.
Step 6: Relax. You're all done!
The first step in creating a marketing video
So, to get started with step 1... who's your audience? What buyer persona are you looking to target? This step is important because it'll help determine the overall tone and style of your marketing video. It's also important to have a clear understanding of who you're marketing to so that you can communicate with them correctly.
For example, if I'm marketing to an older generation of baby boomers, I'll communicate with them differently than if I'm marketing to millennials. Once you know who your target market is, it'll be much easier to create a marketing video that resonates with your target audience.
The second step in creating a marketing video
Once you've determined who your audience is, move on to step two: What's your message? What are you trying to communicate with your marketing video? Are you looking to introduce a new product or service? Or maybe you just want to create a brand awareness campaign? This will help dictate the script for your video.
Keep in mind that most people only have a few seconds to watch a marketing video before they decide if they're going to keep watching or not. So make sure your message is clear and concise! Start by getting out a note-pad or a Google Doc. Brainstorm with your friends and co-workers and make sure your messaging talks about the pain point your product or solution solves otherwise what's the point of the video?
How do I create a storyboard?
Now that you know who your audience is and what you want to say, it's time for storyboarding.
Step three involves creating a storyboard for your marketing video to help give it some structure. It'll also help you visualize the finished product and make sure that all your shots are in the right order.
First, you'll want to gather some images that represent what you're trying to communicate. For example, if I'm marketing a new product, I might find some images of people using the product or pictures of the product itself.
After you have your images, start sketching out how you want your video to look scene by scene. What's the intro, the hook, the drama, the visuals, what's the final message, or the call to action? Go frame by frame as this will help you determine what shots you need and how long each shot will be.
There are a few different ways to create the storyboard... you can use good old fashioned pen and paper, or you can use digital tools like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or Canva.
How to find the right video marketing agency
Once you have a storyboard, it's time to find an agency. Not all agencies are created equal- some will charge more than others. Do your research and find one that fits your budget and style. Take a look at Clutch to find good video production companies in your area.
A good marketing video agency will be able to help determine the style and tone of a marketing video that's right for you, create a script, and storyboard for you if you don't already have one. They'll also have experience in creating videos like yours before- so they can give advice on how best to get your message across using visuals, music & other elements. And last but not least they take into consideration all aspects including a budget, timelines, distribution channels, markets, etc.
There are big agencies like Ogilvy, smaller agencies like Razorfish, and then boutique agencies that specialize in very specific industries. These agencies produce great work but are often very expensive to cover all the creative minds they have to pay salaries for because producing high-quality content is time-consuming and expensive. Then there are companies like Zazzify who create high-quality turn-key videos and even DIY tools like Canva.
How to distribute your cool video
Now that you've got your video in hand, it's time to distribute it! This is where step five comes in: make sure you're distributing your marketing video through the correct channels.
There are a few different marketing video channels that you can use, but here are some of the most popular ones:
Each channel has its benefits and drawbacks. For example, YouTube is great for reaching a large audience, but it's harder to target specific demographics than Facebook. LinkedIn is good for B2B marketing videos, while Twitter is great for short and quick videos.
The last step: Relax
And finally, step six: relax! You're all done creating your first marketing video!
Now put your feet up and watch that video go viral and watch the leads roll in (fingers crossed).
